On November 3, 2025, TUMIKI Institute of Technology in collaboration with the KU-GETPPP program organized a KU-GETPPP network seminar in Vietnam. The seminar was attended by Professor Sung Jin Kang – Professor of the Faculty of Economics and Director of the Global Energy Technology Policy Expert Program (GETPPP) at Korea University, Mr. Bui Quoc Hung – Deputy Director, Electricity Authority, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Mr. Pham Ngoc Phuc – Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tecotec Group, Ms. Pham Thi Hai Lien – Director, TUMIKI Institute of Technology and delegates from Korea University, research institutes, consultants and enterprises. The objective of the seminar is to strengthen the KU-GETPPP Alumni and Partner Network in Vietnam, enhance interdisciplinary cooperation and identify potential joint projects between Korea and Vietnam in the fields of energy, sustainable development and technology development.

During the discussion, Prof. Sung Jin Kang and Prof. Kim Kyung Nam introduced the Green School of Korea University and the GETPPP Program, outlining the program’s academic mission, research objectives, and efforts over the past decade in building policy networks in many countries. He emphasized that GETPPP focuses on integrating public policy, environmental governance, and technological innovation to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The participants shared about streamlining project management mechanisms for collaborative research and pilot implementation, capacity building for young researchers in the field of green technology, and improving communication channels between alumni, private sector partners, and government agencies. Next, they discussed and agreed to develop a framework for pilot proposals for upcoming projects on smart city development, semiconductor training, renewable energy deployment and water resource management, organize annual workshops alternating between Seoul and Hanoi to monitor progress and expand participation, and encourage joint publications and exchange programs to disseminate research results and enhance joint visibility. The discussion concluded with mutual appreciation and reaffirmation of the strong and growing partnership between Korean and Vietnamese organizations under the KU-GETPPP.
